How would i make a glowing sword or something like that cast its light onto another part of the figure? There's some parts on my rifles and guns in my dark eldar army that i want to make it look like they're glowing.
This is one area of painting which can be quite difficult to master. It has been covered in another thread quite recently though. Here is a link to the post.
Hope this helps
I'm not sure if this helps, but i think you have to use lights to cast shadows, then paint in the shadow area...or something like that...
Its easier than you think. I tried it yesterday for my necron lord. What i did is simply drybrushed shades of needed color on the ground in a circle around the source. First dark the lighter then highlight. Just dont get carried away and cover too big of an area. Also what i did with highlights is drybrushed them in * pattern instead of circle. However if you want to paint cast light on the model itself and not the ground its gonna be harder to do it realistically. You have to think of the way light will fall on the surface of mini and drubrush lightly that pattern. I havent tried it yet.Originally Posted by blank generation
