Welcome to Librarium Online!
This last week, I finally have my 2k Iyanden army list planned out, and have purchased all the models and got them ready for paint...
but before I make mistakes... I need help or have an idea what I am doing, as these models are EXSPENSIVE AS HELL~.
Can anyone out there give me some pointers? Steps? Guides? Tips? or comments on how to achieve some good yellow color, with some highlights and so forth.
Simple way to do yellow. Prime with white. Paint your yellow and use yellow ink on the crevasses.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.

personally i would undercoat white, paint base colour sunburst yellow, then ink with fleshwash (to get a slightly brown/yellow shading), then go over the surfaces with sunburst/golden yello with bad moon yellow as highlights

I agree with the guys, prime white. You do not want to have to paint yellow over black undercoat. Remember to keep your paints watered down. When I am painting yellow, I usually start with vomit brown then move up to golden yellow followed by sunburst and finally bad moon highlights. Give the whole thing a glaze with golden yellow to blend the highlights and it should look great.

my rules when i painted my yellow eldar
1st rule of painting yellow, white primer, never ever ever black
2nd rule of painting yellow, dont get irritated with the lack of depth per layer and paint thick layers, you need 2+ smaller layers of yellow to = the depth of another color
3rd dont cover the entire model with flesh wash, but try to outline it as best you can without the wash going everywhere
4th if you get a dark color mistake on the model, cover the mistake with a small layer of white, before covering with yellow
good luck bro
Shading with orange can look sweet too! Gives more depth. Another alternative

If you are deciding to go with a black undercoat you should layer on brown and after that yellow. That works very well. Yes, it takes a while, but looks good.

Tanned flesh also makes a very good basecoat for any yellow.

Here's how I did my yellow;
painted golden yellow all over
covered the entire model in watered-down chesnut ink
painted the raised parts golden yellow againt
highlighted sunburst yellow
final highlights with bad-moon yellow
