Whats up again all, I've created my own Space Marine Chapter, Brotherhood Of Stronghold. I've got the fluff but I ain't postin links to it, its not the topic. Right now I'm working on painting my army, I've got my first tactical squad completed but now that I look at it they look similar to the Dark Angels. Used a Dark Angels Green basecoat and put some other colors into it. I need some advice on what else to do with them. I gave a link to a picture of some of the squad, what else can I do to them without being told to highlight or drybrush and all that. I'm still learning all that stuff, they are still in the progress.
nice models...seems like u've done them quite cleanly. Take some more pics from some more angles if u get a chance. Asides from the obvious, some highlights etc, basing them and also chapter badge? theres not much else really, nice scheme, its just the colours seem alittle flat. I like the scheme though (Y)
Thanks, the one thing I was worried about was that they looked too much like the Dark Angels. But after going through some galleries of Dark Angels mine don't seem as similar. I haven't done any basing or badges yet cause I don't feel like I'm done with them. I still want to put on another coat of white to their helmets and put more detail into the weapons, paint the eyes too. Its pretty late but I'll take and post more pictures tomorrow.
When i first started space marines i realised that i didnt actually need to highlight them, especially with dark colour like you have, natural highlights work well. They are neatly painted and i like the scheme.
I know you said u didn't want ti highlight or drybrush but maybe a ink wash on the white then drybrush over the top would make the colour sem less flat, maybe a chestnut wash on the gold as well. the rest doesnt need highlighting though.
Nice tidy job (Y)
nice,as everyone has said so far it is a nice tidy paint job.suggestions?hmmm maybe some more metallics on the joints in the armour eg.back of knee's and elbow's.apart from that an ink wash and another layer of thinned white on the helmets and they'll look perfect
INNOCENCE IS NOT IMMUNITY
