So after watching Saving private Ryan and Band of Brothers, and plalying Call of Duty,
I thought it would be cool to create a WWII Imperial guard army. I was wondering if somebody had any good ideas on converting guardsmen into Marines? Not so much on the body, but more on the helmets and such. Your help is greatly apprieciated.
i guess you can use actual ww2 marine mini's and just swap the heads and such.apart from that, good aul GS would work just as well, and you could add dints and damage to them using GS
INNOCENCE IS NOT IMMUNITY
This isn't to do with your question, but I've just watched/played those (yesterday) and had exactly the same thought.

If you want Americans, you have Cadians (with a bit of converting, mainly the shoulderpads and armor needs to go). For British, Cadians with modded helmets and the conversion done to the armor? I know you can just add a longer brim with GS for the helmets though.
dont forget the old stormtroopers with berets (I think they were metal models in the deamon hunter section?) for british.

you said make them look like marines, and I'm going to operate under the assumption you mean the USMC not the Space Marines...
I would say that using the catachan bodies as a base and then green stuffing a uniform, you could get that. The only problem is that green stuffing shirts and helmets on 100+ models will probably get tedious, fast. So I guess try and keep the converting as simple as humanly possible. To really drive home what you're looking for, you should focus most of your conversion effort perhaps into very distinct and obvious flags and tanks, and then do a minimal amount of conversion on your guys just so they'll pass as what you want them to be.

Look very much like marine/commandos/SAS.
