First post, but I thought I'd try to make it meaningful. I play Black Templars, and I read all the GW articles regarding painting them, etc. I know they highlight with a mix of codex and fortress gray, and then a line of fortress.
Listen, how do they get that razor-thin highlight on the edges? Are they drybrushing that? Because if so, I'm having no luck with that. I'm taking my 18/0 brush and painstakingly 'drawing' the fine highlight on the edges. It looks ok, but &^%$ it takes sime time!
Any advice here? Am I doing it the dummy way?
Okay this is an easy one. All you have to do is put the paint on your brush and use the side of it, dont try and paint the line with the tip of the brush you should always use edge highlights with the side of your brush, just angle the brush so that it sits kinda like this -\ against the edge and drag it along.

Just to add to this great advice: Make sure that you don't have too much paint on the brush otherwise it will pool over irregularly as you drag it. Which could leave some thick areas. A little paint goes a long way!Originally Posted by C/-Rt3r

Thanks for the advice, I suspected there had to be a better way!
