In a recent article (WD311, pg. 104, "Epistolary Aradiel"), there was a really neat conversion done that I'm itching to try sometime down the road (when I get a little braver with the green stuff, etc.)
How did he do the head? He based it on the Lysander body, and it looks like he chopped the head off and replaced it. How would you do that?
Second, where did he get the books, etc. for attaching over the imperial fist icons? They look like bits, but where'd they come from?
The head was, I believe, a champion's head with a green stuff hood. I did almost the exact same conversion for my Libbie (except that I used Ezekiel's sword and Lysander's head).Originally Posted by Canew
The books... hmm, I know some stuff came from a steam engine thingy and the larger book probably came from the Old metal termy librarian.
I'm looking into doing this too but I'm not quite sure what models to combine. I know lysander is a great one to do but I kinda want the more agressive pose of one of the plastic termies. I saw one done with what looked like a long haired elf or eldar head, a sword with alot of purity seals attached to it etc and it looked really clean. I've been hunting around for awhile for the pieces they used but haven't had much luck.
I havn't got the US edition of WD so I cant answer your first question sorry. I am assuming he removed the metal head with some sort of rotary modelling tool (like these), but without seeing the model I can't be sure.Originally Posted by Canew
Perhaps the best thing to do to find some books is go to the GW online store and search for "book." You should find plenty of book-type bits to cover your librarian in. I used the luthor huss book with my librarian and it looks really good.
