I'm trying to get ideas to create my Chapter Master. In the usual army list, hes got a power weapon, master-crafted storm bolter, artificer armor, purity seals. I want to create a cool model to show him but don't really have any ideas. I know I need the storm bolter to look different and pretty powerful to represent that its master crafted. I'll stick a couple purity seals all over him and have his armor painted gold and some silver to show its artificer armour. The power weapon I'm thinking of finding a nice axe or hammer. But still I have no ideas on how to represent his wargear and weapons.
Well since you are asking for modeling advice and not wargear composition, I will not touch the Storm Bolter / Power Weapon combo.
I would avoid the Hammer, even though I think it is a cool idea for a power weapon, as anyone you play will assume that it is a Thunder Hammer. You might go for a double headed axe (blood thirster style, although not nearly that large) by chopping the head off of one power axe and gluing it to the back of another power axe. For the Storm Bolter, you should set it up with the ammo box feed (like on tanks) and paint it with a little gold trim, and a royal purple or maroon type color (looks more regal), slap a couple purity seals and viola, Master Crafted. I also find that the commander sprue cape can really add to the character, and show his power and leadership on the table. Well just a couple ideas, good luck, whatever you may decide.
Paint little squiggley lines along the blades of the power weapon, make it look prettyful.

Rep people if they help you!!!
Hey thanks, that double headed axe idea will really help, I thought about it more and I want to make it have 2 axe heads on the top and on the bottom so its an actual double axe. I'm going to try and find something like the Storm Bolter used by the Terminator Chaplin model. Will probably just buy the bit from the online store cause I'm goin buy the model but I'll use him as he is.Originally Posted by BringerOfStorms
Painting armor gold just makes it gold-painted armor. For artificer armor, you need to add some stuff. Be it additional bolts and plates, ornaments or anything like that, make it clear it's not a run-of-the-mill suit of armor.
You might have a look on this:
Two basic plastic Marines, initially. With all the additions, they look a bit closer to a 2+ save.
