Does any one have the German or French Space Marine Drop Pod templates? I have seen articles and pictures, but have never seen templates for either one. Also, does any one know why GW is so against these plans getting out? The pods look very nice, so unless they are making there own I don't see what the big deal is.
They are against it because forge world makes a lot of money via drop pods and GW is going to make a plastic version soon... the last thing they need is for their consumers to already have their own drop pods. The French and German GW feel bad for the drop pods costing about $80 each but since then they've lost their sympathy.
Oh and it's a bad idea to ask for drop pod templates here on LO.
It's also a good idea to use the search function so that you don't have to create your own thread.
GW's gonna make a plastic version? Know anything else about it?

Thats good news, now I can stop working on my own now.
So, once GW starts selling these new plastic droppods, will DIY models be no good at tourneys? Or are they already no good at tourneys because of the FW models?
DIY droppods are still legal at tourneys until GW releases a model. If FW makes something, that dosen't mean its illegal, it just means they make it.
Can you point to me where this rule is in the 40k or Rogue Trader rulebook? I'm having trouble tracking it down.Originally Posted by ClarionMarine
Well I just got ahold of 3 of the australian made wooden drop pods for $60 for all 3 and they're really nice. The right size, they look good and they should be easy to paint. Only bad thing is that they are a PITA to assemble due to them being wooden but once you get it all together they're fine. Just gotta get some wood putty to cover up the joints and I'll be good to go. I don't plan on going to any GW tourneys soon and even if they do release a real drop pod it'll be $35 instead of $20 and probably won't look any better than these do.
Besides no casual gamer is going to complain about me using them over the GW pods and if they do they're the type of person not worth playing against anyways.
The sun never sets on a badass.
its just common sense, stuff from FW isn't legal so much at tourneys anyways, so why would you have to use thier droppod? Now, when one is sold from Games Workshop, you know www.gamesworkshop.com not www.forgeworld.co.uk then, DIY in my opinion would be considered illegal for tourney. No need to be a rules lawyer.Originally Posted by relasine
