OK, I just recently picked up a copy of CA2004 because it has the updated rules for VDR Necron stuff. Unfortunatly I discovered that the rules made my current VDR walker illegal. <grumble>. Oh well. I am planning to design a new vehicle using the rules from CA2004 but need some help identifying a strong platform to base my new tank on. Basic idea is a skimmer(anti-grav) tank somewhat blocky in design, I may be ableto do this by attaching seperate card and plastic stock to give it the 'Necron look'. I have been looking online for various models but nothing is striking me a what I think would be perfect. I tried finding models for old Battletech hovertanks but none exist appearantly.
Any suggestions from all of you. Please post links if you sugges a model design or toy base. If I can find a good base I will complete the VDR conversion and post pics of the new tank.
I dunno about the rules cause I havnt bought CA yet but I'd suggest a scratch build for your Skimmer/Hover thing...
Try and find some packging, yogurt pots, small cube boxes. Something that you can get several of and attach together in a cuboid formation sorta like this (from a top down view)The desired effect being cubes/blocks of computer banks or whatever it is Necrons are made of. Then painted up with a cockpit of somekind (maybe an opentop vehicle with necrons inside driving), lots of detailing and some funky weapons and presto.. Cool Necron skimmer/Hovercraft VDR thingy..Code:-------- Â*-------- Â*--------- | Â* Â* Â*| | Â* Â* Â* | | Â* Â* Â* Â*| | Â* Â* Â*| | Â* Â* Â* | | Â* Â* Â* Â*| -------- Â*-------- Â*--------- -------- Â*-------- Â* --------- | Â* Â* Â*| | Â* Â* Â* | | Â* Â* Â* Â*| | Â* Â* Â*| | Â* Â* Â* | | Â* Â* Â* Â*| -------- Â*-------- Â*---------
