I am having a few problems locating colour schemes for Imperial Guard Titans, I am not not the best painter in the World ( or the most creative).. Historical gaming background.. but I do have an air brush..and a fair selection of different paint types.. I am asking for help as these (Titans) are expensive and I do not really want to mess up such a lovely model...
To be honest I am not really into bold bright colours such as Reds and Yellows, but would like the jolly thing to be quite nasty.. I was thinking of adding transfers using a decal program that I purchased from Walmart in the hobby section for $7.99
As for added wording around the beasty I have the ability to be able to print in 3 point so this should add some further detail...alass the wording poses an issue I guess I could copy wording / serial type numbers from WWII tanks etc.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome and the person that gives the best solution will be added to my Xmas card list
Regards and Thanks in advance
A nice grey with gold trimming should look nice. Use a base of shadow/codex grey and go over with space wolf grey. The trimmings should be in a reasonable gold of your choice.
The reasons for this colour is they are ancient and archiac which would be dark and normaly gold trim also chaos black could work.
And I want that card:yes:
Hope it helps
There are no titans in the Imperial guard.. They're just deployed in support of guard units.
Titan Legions have their own command structure within the Adeptus Mechanicus. They fight in legions, each of which has its own colour scheme, support units, Skitarii auxilia etc.
Therefore, paint your titans any colours you want. They don't have to match up with your guard at all. If you're a fluffy person, you could write some fluff about the legion they come from. The naming convention is 'Legion <latin word here>.'
Personally, I would include red.. Red is the holy colour of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Maybe a dark crimson colour with a nice 'chipped paint' effect. You can do this by running a brush with boltgun metal or silver paint along any hard edges on the Titan's structure.

as said by mantis, there are no actual imperial guard titans, there all owned and run by the adeptus mechanicus.
Therefore blacks and red's would be my choice if i ever got a titan.if you dont like very bright and flashy colours then the red and black should suite you.apart from that,if you want you can put a banner underslung on one of the barrels, showing its heraldry or your armies name and some sort of fancy pants logo or symbol for your guard company.
INNOCENCE IS NOT IMMUNITY
Thank you for your comments of which I found to be of great interest, would you please be so kind as to point me in the general direction of where I may find such information on the "Titan Legions" etc
Thank you I thought that quite an interesting colour scheme
Originality is also not a bad idea, you don't have to stick t fluff. I personally found the simple red and sliver a bit plain for titans considering the silver trimming would almost match that of the metalic joints behind the plates. I went for a firey design with gold timmings to separate the cooler feeling of that of the metalic joints.
