There are lots and lots of already existing topics about stripping paint from models. Please search for them before you continue.
Metho doesn't affect plastic. Problem is it doesn't much affect the paint either.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Castrol Super Clean. Get a big thing of it and pour it in a bucket, throw your models in overnight, use a toothbrush to get the paint off, and repaint ^.^

Ok the cheap solution for someone who just wants to go to a general store in town.
1 get an electric toothbrush and a couple bottles of nailpolish remover
2 dump the nail polish remover into a bucket or a cup.
3 let the models sit for a while probably overnight is best.
4 clean them with the toothbrush.
once they are all clean wash the chemicals off.

Just one thing to add...
If you use nail polish remover search the ingridients for acetone! If there's acetone in it DO NOT USE IT! It would destroy the whole mini until there's some tiny piece of plastic left... it may be even worse.
Easiest way to be sure whether there's aceton in it or not: If it's in a plastic bottle there's definitely no aceton in it... if it was in the plsatic bottle there would not be a plastic bottle, but pure air or a gas consisting of former plastic and acetone.
Hope I could save some Minis
