I am modeling a Tyranid swarm with a scorpion theme. I have three Tyrant guard. I am planning to convert them to look like scorpions to fit in with the rest of my swarm. I am not exactly sure how to go about it. I do want to replace the larger rending claw arms with scorpion-like pincers and give them scorpion-like legs. However I'm not sure what to do. I would be grateful for any ideas.
you could use parts from the tomb scorpion from the warhammer tomb kings. just put the pinchers in the front two arm soccets and then put four of the scorpion legs in the rear 4 arm/leg sockets.
hope this helps.
heres a link showing the bits
Thankyou very much. That put me on the right track. I was just thinking about using spare parts. But I think a better result will be achieved by getting some specific pieces. In the end I think I'll be using Keeper of secrets claws and the Tomb scorpion tail.
Whenever I'm after a unique look I sometimes canibalise old plastic toys for parts. Mostly because they're cheaper than model parts.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.

Yes I have some old Alien toys lying around and though they are to big for Tyrant guard they will certainly be useful on bigger Tyranids such as Hive tyrants and Carnifexes.Originally Posted by CBrate
The idea about Old one eye's claws is a good one. I have three pairs of them spare. I got them a few years ago when I was converting Carnifexes. I didn't actually check if they worked because I assumed they would of been to big. However I now see they are just right. Thier large armoured size makes them ideal for Tyrant guard, now all I have to do is get a Hive tyrant to go with them.
Thankyou all very much for all the help, your imput has been very useful.
