Da Mighty Camel
The Salmon Thief
Ok, so I've been away and the voting could have been up earlier but.. nevermind it is still Monday. Here are the entries;
The contestants are...
Da Mighty Camel
The Salmon Thief
Now it appears that once more we have the problem with more entrants than we have slots in the polls. I am sorry but this is beyond my control and I just take the pictures in the order of what page I am on - so in reverse. This leaves someone in the position of being lacking a poll slot it seems. And going in running order than would be Jon Quixote. I do recall he was last time but to alter this now would seem as favourisim.
So... when you put your input.. NAME YOU VOTE IN THE POST, NO MATTER FOR WHO, EVEN IF THEY HAVE A POLL SLOT. For the moment I am afraid this is the best way I can see of doing it. Sorry but it is entirely out of my control.

By chemicalcaveman Now, I did say only two pictures CC. No cheating.

Oh, Emperor's teeth, I forgot to update my pic to the nice collage with finished base and stuff :l
Oh well, I've voted for Gareth, because Broadsides and his paint scheme kick butt.
Gloria Imperator, The Firstborn Stand!
- 2000pts Inquisition, 2000pts Vostroyans, 3000pts Vampire Counts, 1400pts Daemons, [WIP] 2500pts Death Guard
My vote goes to chemicalcaveman.
While his model is not the best painted (IMO), it is unusual, interesting and highly creative, which, I believe, is what this contest is all about.
I love the exploding head, and the copper staff is exactly how I imagined them to look back in the good ol' days of 2nd ed, when exploding weird boys were almost as common as special characters...
The paint job is solid, pretty good table-top standard I would say, could do with a bit more depth to the colours, but they are neat, tidy and unusual. Somehow the strange skin-tone really works for me.
All in all, a good contest. I would give best painted (unsuprisingly) to gareth, but if artificer had finished, and if Jon Quixote had a better photo, then the result might be different.
Well done everyone, I hop you all enjoyed yourselves, and may the best man (or woman) win.
minus_t's painting log! Now with: More Wolves and Blue Robots!

I vote for artificer
Awesome paint & loads of work.. very cool
i misspell alot
DIE BUNNY, DIE BY MY HEAVY BOLTER
copy this into your sig to halt bunny's quest for world domination!!
My vote is for chemicalcaveman.
The point of the contest was to make something original and unique, and I feel he did the best job of accomplishing that goal than all the other contestants.
I voted for Artificer; That's the best looking (to me) and one of which I can understand what it represents.
I voted for artificer
Fantastic paint job, and i felt it nicely did what this comp asked for.
My vote is Chemicalcaveman.
It's a perfect snapshot of a moment of stunning and hilarious violence.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: Are you wounded?
Clouseau: No. Fortunately I was saved by the darkness.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: So what we need is more light.
Definitely chemicalcaveman! Artificer's paint job and conversion are great (at least the finished part), Gareth has only minor convresions, but a great paint job and chemicalcaveman's Ork just did it! Albino, exploding head, some simple but interesting conversions,... the list does not end...
Too late, but now I have the time to add highlights and the like...
Hopefully the other yet unfinished entries will get a thread with final pics as well.
Already looking forward to the next competition *smile*
I hope the next theme will be as inspiring as the last. Without finding LO and the competition (it's my very first competition) I would not have thought that much about my "Egyptian" Chaplain.
Now I stop being sentimental...
Every entry has its own character and individuality. Some got it through the idea, some through the conversion and some through the paint job. IMO every entry will be a great soldier, leader or decorative item for your gaming room.
There are too many entries? That only shows that the competition did what it had to do! It inspired many people, even more than LO would have expected...
One negative thing I have to add :hmm: no one (including me) used the competition to do something totally different... Everyone did a "usual" mini. No great objective markers or anything like that. Would have been great to see some people throwing something into the competition no one would have expected.
