I need a bit of help on deciding what colors to paint a Carstien's flesh with. I was thinking of using the bluish greys that Veleijo has. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have found an interesting technique to tint flesh. Start with a base of either pale flesh or some white grey color and then depending on the color range do a very watered down ink wash over the paint to tint it. In your case if you are looking for a blueish tint I would recommend watered down blue or perhaps bue/purple ink wash. Afterwards highlight up the high parts up through white.
Remember you can do more than one layer of ink wash. If it isn't tinted enough wait until it dries and apply again. The ink needs to be pretty watered down otherwise the color will be too sharp. You just want a hint of color. A little goes a long way!
