I own a GW case..........but how/where do u put/keep tanks and dreadnoughts?
i get the boxes from tanks and put foam between.
How did u make that?
That box cost about US$10 to make. It would be even less if you used a cheaper, or free, box. The boxes can be anything you like. They come in a nearly infinite variety of colors and sizes. My Undead army is in a black one.
Using some foam-core board* I made a bottom tray with compartments for the various sized miniatures I planned to carry. The foam-core glued easily with a hot glue gun, but you could probably use just about any type of glue. The edges were high enough to protect the miniatures from another tray I rested on top. I did not make all the walls full height, as it is much easier to pick out the miniatures when you can actually fit your hand into the compartments. On this box you can see only the two center walls are full height.
For individual troops, I glued a layer of egg crate foam to a sheet of foam-core that rests on top of the compartment. Using the same concept, but putting soft foam on both sides of the trays, you can make a multiple tray box for carrying large infantry armies. I have one box that holds almost 500 troops. It cost about US$15 to make. Very inexpensive I think. Don’t forget to cut small indents on the side of the tray to make it easier to lift out.
I got the egg crate foam from the mattress pads they sell cheap in a home goods store (Wally Mart in the US).
* Foam-core is foam sandwiched between paper. It is usually carried as art board or picture mat, and is available in most picture, frame, and craft stores. You could probably go very cheap and use cardboard, but foam-core more rigid and looks better.
I ceep my minis in egg cartons(at least I plan to) Ive found that there evencheeper that what wolfraider mentioned(probabaly next to nothing from a grocery store)and you get free eggs too, odd way of thinking of it: Buy this carton, and weel give you 12 free eggs! lol
for my tanks I just put them on top of the cartons, in a largerbox, that shold be ok unless you play a very tank heavy army.

-Guns don't kill people, bullets do.-
-Support your local game store! Don't buy online or from GW stores.-
If your a little flash as I am *cough* then you can check out Hardware stores / Car Garages etc for toolbox's.
I found a quite swish Briefcase style toolbox. When opened fully it opens like a book. One side is open and is great for tanks. The other side was all sectioned off (for screws, nails etc) i stuck bumpy foam from a crappy GW case in all the holes and put my minis in there.. and all for £10.
BTW, How many Tanks counld ya fit in that box of yours?
I have a tool box I bought for about £4 which had foam inside.
Cut out places for the minis and boom, I have a box for them, only problem was that they weren't secure, until I cut of some polystyrene and placed in over them, now once I shut the case, they are secure and wont move about too much...or at least thats the plan.
