I have decided to use a dp in my WE army, but i hate the model, so i have also decided to convert one. Now, i dont have any ideas, all i have came up with is to somehow mix the dp and the bloodthrister, and i have no idea how to do that, and make it look good. So i would really appreciate it if u give me some tips on that or give me even better ideas how to make a Khorne dp. Thnx in advance
I'm not sure how to mix up the Daemon prince and Bloodthirister not knowing what parts you do or don't like. Remember that once someone becomes a Daemon prince they are a bieng of the warp. This means they may not look anything like they once did. What I mean by this if you're not sure what model to use expand your choices. The Daemon prince may in no way resemble a Chaos space marine anymore.
You could try the Balrog or Belakor. Also check out the Inquisitor range for inspiration, one of the models there could be converted into a Daemon prince. You should also think about style and the models personality. Obviously a Daemon prince of Khorne is evil and rather psychotic. But what kind of evil? Is he a dreaded overlord who glares at people, cooks up evil plans and stalks around looking imposing. Or is he simply a blood-mad butcher who is only followed by equally psychotic madmen.
The idea is to imagine is he willfully malevolent or simply a beast. If you give yourself an idea of his personality picking a model to convert to represent him will be much easier.
As leech said, the fluff behind your lord will definantly help in figuring out how to model him. What specific things do you not like about the DP model? If you could give specifics, then perhaps we could help figure out good solutions.
What would he be given? Flight or Speed? Berserker Glaive or something else?
Ive got an idea for a Daemon Prince w/ D speed that would realy look nice, but it may cost a bit of money and time.
You'll need 1 Juggernaut of Khorne, 1 Blood thirster, DP arms, Greenstuff, clippers.
Ok now im thinking of a cenataur DP, take the Torso of the Blood Thirster and trim the area where the Arms would go and make it flat. Then trim the DP arms where the pewter sticks out for the DP body. Glue the DP arms to the Blood thirster torso. Now take the Torso and glue it where the juggernaut head goes. The end of the torso should be about at the middle of the juggernaut head if it were glued on. Now, carefully take the Bloodthirster arms and blue them to the area where the BT wings would go, in a postion that doesnt colide with the DP arms. Green stuff them to look like he has an extra pair of arms to slay his foes with. Now greenstuff the region under the torso for support and to look natural. Take the little talbard buckle from the BT and put it where it should be on the regular BT model. If you can happen to find an old Blood letter juggernaut rider put him on the back of the DP in the saddle. If not, Stack skulls and spiky bits so no one can realize its a saddle. Now you have a DP that can have speed, D armor, D Aura, D mutation, D Visage, and many more options to give him.
wow, that's really good. Well done sir.
I thought something like, torso and legs from the dp, and the arms and the head from the thrister. I want to use the thrister arms coz i want him to be muscular, wich doesnt meen i have to use his arms but i dont have a choice. Would probably use green stuff to make his armor more khorny. As for the fluff he is an bestial, overpowered, mad butcherer of men, a god in CC. For the weapon i would give him the Glaive
You are saying you want to use the Bloodthirsters arms to make him more muscular. The Bloodthirsters arms I believe are attached at the elbow. You will need to remove the shoulders from the bloodthirsters torso and attach them to the Daemon prince's body. This will be rather difficult. I would suggest you use the Daemon prince's shoulders and stick the Bloodthirsters arms onto them.Originally Posted by Capt. Phil
The Bloodthirsters left hand carries a whip and you want a berserker glaive, a whip and an axe is two close combat weapons and you only want one. For the left hand I would use the Daemon prince's left hand. The berserker glaive itself doesn't have to be a glaive. In the Chaos codex Daemon weapons are described as an axe or sword but it also says they don't have to be. All that is needed is that the Daemon weapon be big and impressive and you tell your opponent what it is. The Bloodthirsters axe is ideal you could also use the Daemon prince's sword it is up to you.
The Bloodthirsters head is not my personal favourite. I replaced the head of my own Bloodthirster with a Juggernaughts head. You could try this on your Daemon prince. It is certainly a big nasty looking head.
That'll be quite expensive as the shaggoth isn't really a multipart model.
I don't know about whether it'll fit or not, but I'll find out for you.

You mean something along the same lines as this?
- Khorne Daemon Prince, created by Yadrinas of the Bolter and Chainsword forums.
As for the suggestion of a Juggernaut with a bloodthirster torso attached - it would not work well at all. The Juggernaut is barely able to hold Archaon's Torso and look reasonably good, a Bloodthirster torso would look too front heavy.
