Welcome to Librarium Online!
hi, I'm living in Canda, and I wonder is anyone could tell me where the best place to buy foam and stuff like that, and also tools to build scenery.
Get the sheet foam in any home DIY store. Its the pink or blue wall insulation foam (extruded polystyrene). Use this for large terrain features, such as rocks, hills, craters, etc.
Foam Core, the foam sandwiched between paper, can be found in art stores, craft stores and picture framing shops. Its also called art board and mat board. Use this for walls and other building structure areas.
Hot Wire Cutter. This is a tool used to cut the sheets of foam. It does not work on foam core, since there is paper on the outside. Its essentially a wire stetched between a bow and connected to a battery. It heats up and cuts through foam like a cheese cutter. You can find it in floral shops (for cutting floral foam), and model railroad stores (battery and AC powered units). Or you can mail order it from micromark or Woodland Scenics.
Sheet polystyrene (plasticard) Used for a great many things. Get it from most model railrad stores or well stocked model hobby shops. You can mail order from Plastruct.
Rulers, glue, knives, scissors, etc. from just about anywhere.
If you want a Canada specific store, you'll have to either seach on-line or tell me what city in Canada is closest. It's somewhat large so any city I suggest might not be accessable to you.
I would say you could get the general scenery tools at any hardware store.
Stuff like a craft knife, ruler etc.
You could buy a hot wire cutter. But if you are up to it and you got some experience with electrics, why not try to make one yourself...sort of as a challenge.

You can also just use a knife from you own house to cut the foam its sometimes a bit rough but with a bit of glasspaper (sandpaper) to clean up the cuts you can make it look pretty good.
