Well, yesterday me (90%) and a friend (10%) kinda went on a scenery spree in our need to play a proper CoD game!
and we came up with these!
The Black lines as to help define the buildings, added those in PS CS2.
Same Pic but I threw in a whole bunch of models to simulate a fight.
A pic of one of the little Melees going on, with FXs added.
A pic of the Kroot Snipers in the Tallest Tower,
Some Grey Knights face the Fire Power of the Tau!
A Crappy bunker thingy I made.
A Devilfish and a Sisters of Battle Squad face off! But what looms on the foreground???
OMGZ! GARGANT FTW!!!!!
OMGZ run for your LIFE!!!!!
FINAL EDIT: I got them all posted!
Well, whatever works, you know
Gloria Imperator, The Firstborn Stand!
- 2000pts Inquisition, 2000pts Vostroyans, 3000pts Vampire Counts, 1400pts Daemons, [WIP] 2500pts Death Guard
Not bad. It is not like we can all can go out and buy CoD. Are you going to make anymore?
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
Just a suggestion, a little base (flat black, hand painted) paint to protect the foamcore and then you can spray "flec paint" grey over the foamcore boards which will give it some nice surface color and texture. And kick it up several levels in playability.
There are also templates on GW website for buildings for foamcore.
A sort of Shanty Town of Death????
Everything you have been told is a lie!
But it has such a nice view!
AS far as makign the look nice, nuh-uh, these are not meant to look nice, these are mean to be functional, All I got to do is put bases on some of them to keep them from falling over and boom, a near instant CoD board.
Cheap too, it was about 20$ CAD, 10$ for the 2 Foambard sheets and 10$ for the sheet of Card (used for floors) plus I could probly get away with making 2 more midium to small sized buildings.
If there is interest I can work on a article describing how I did this.
Now admittedly, fast is good, but for goodness sakes man, look at some buildings some time. Even with the simple cuts, you can make doors, windows, etc. And rubble up those edges
Looks like a "post-modern, abstract representation" of a warzone.
Add a few neon lights, some black lights, and a fog machine and it'll look like the local laser-tag arena.
Seriously though, it's a cool quick and dirty answer to CoD fights. Also, unlike the more detailed scenery, it looks like it DOESN'T take 40,000 years to move your troops each turn. Which is a very good thing.
Arvan'drynn Craftworld - 15,000pts (deceased)
Tau - 2,000 points (atomized while on patrol)
Now a fear of my precious models being lost to a near fatal structural collapse (foamboard and glue are never 100% safe), but Im more terrified by that Lego brand Titan! The thought of losing armies to something made of blocks that shoots a light up lazer beam... dreadful )
Actually I think its pretty good for quick made buildings. I can never seem to make look ruins look real, but yours seems more than good enough. If you think foamboard buildings is impressive, maybe I should make a post for my homemade whirlwind/rhino.

i think the only thing missing from your terrain set is craters.
always nice to have some cover to duck behind when things get sticky, especially in close quarters city conditions.
