I've just finished building and converting two marines with meltaguns for my Black Dragon army, and I thought I'd share them with you.
Both feature my 3d shoulder icons, which I am planning on doing a tutorial/article about soon.
First up, we have a guy with a standard, out-of-the-box meltagun, but fairly heavily modified armour. His chest plate has been GS'd to give it a more heavily armoured feel, covering up as much cabling as possible to protect him from the heat backwash of the meltagun. his legs have also been repositioned, and there are quite a lot of little bits I added 'cos I felt like it.
...And here is a close up of his chest plate, without the meltagun in the way, so you can see the green stuff work I put into it. It's a bit of a pity you can't see much of it when he is holding his gun, but I know it's there...
Second, this guy has had his meltagun made out of a flamer I had spare, with plentyful GS work to bulk it up. The gas fuel canister (made from a melta-bomb) has been relocated to his backpack, with a section of bass guitar string connecting the two. His legs have been slightly repositioned, and had 'crenelations' added (can anyone remember the second ed. devastators? They were the inspiration for that). His head has had lots of GS wires added, to add some bulk, and make it look like it is a bit more integrated into the power armour. This guy was mostly inspired by the marine with a meltagun in the big, double spread illustration of the Raven Guard chapter in the beginning of the 40k rulebook (he is the closest 'in-focus' marine to the center, on the right hand page).
So, let me know what you think guys, C&C always very welcome!

Those are very nice. Very clean and neat. Looking forward to seeing them painted.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
Great as always mate. Hurry up and get that tutorial up, I need to do a few bleeding hearts for my lamenters
I love the work you did on the second guys leg.

are you sure you shouldn't do all the melta gunners like the second guy? I reckon you should, and I don't think I'd be alone in saying that.
