I've never really had extra necron parts sitting around (besides warriors and scarabs), so I got wondering, "what should I do with these extra Destroyer parts." My answer..."I'll make a new Necron Lord on foot." Since I modified my Destroyer Lord with magnets, I can switch back and forth between the different weapons and arms that come in the box set. I also put magnets in this converted Lord so he can share the Destroyer Lord's weapons and arms. I also used green stuff to raise his forehead and scalp, sculpt the symbol thingy on his head and beef up his legs.
Well here he is...Lord Phobos
Heres another shot of him packing a SoL and Res Orb
i have to say thats a pretty good conversion, i really like it
Nice job. Only thing i would do is add more "meat" to the calfs and give him an heels so he doesn't look like he's wearing slippers.
But really nice job none the less. What coulrs did you use for the shoulders?

Awesome job! Given the extra bitz and peices you had, you made another useful model. And it looks really good too! A agree about maybe beefing up his calves, and if you feel REALLY industrious, you might want to invest time into making a kick-arse tattered cape to go along with your Lord on foot. Not that it 'needs' a cape, but that it would look pretty badass.
Anyways, good job man!
If I said I liked it, I would be lying. It's a very nice paint scheme, and a good use of bits, but the thing that catches my eye on first glance is how much larger the torso is then the rest of it.

Necrons - The Phalanx of Gleaming Death
CSM - Iron Warriors

DIE BUNNY, DIE BY MY HEAVY BOLTER
copy this into your sig to halt bunny's quest for world domination!!
I'm afraid that I must agree, his lower body looks puny compared to his massive torso. That said, the rest of him looks great. Maybe something like a cape could help him look more like a lord, and if you are ambitious enough with GS, you could sculpt it flowing around his legs to cover them up.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: Are you wounded?
Clouseau: No. Fortunately I was saved by the darkness.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: So what we need is more light.
Yeah, it looks good but the bottom half is a lot smaller. Great use of bits and greenstuff though. Next time though can you make the pictures less wide so I don't have to constantly scroll around the sides of the page.

Screw all of you. The hulking upper torso makes him look more imposing. Of course, the fact that an ork likes the proportions may mean that he's all wrong for a cron. Regardless, I am a big fan of the "spare part" projects, having worked on a few myself. Good on ya.
God and the soldier, we adore
In times of War, and then no more.
For when the war is ended, and all things righted,
God is forgotten and the old soldier slighted.
