I really like Ork models, but not the rules, and I like the Vampire Counts rules but not the models so... I have some ideas on the models but some I'm stuck on so I'd like some help if you please.
Strigoi Lord/Count: Ork/bat conversion
Strigoi Thrall: Goblin/bat converted by hanging upside-down on a mottled/dying tree
Necromancer: Ork shaman model, with a few skulls and maybe painted gray or dull green.
Zombie: ??? Maybe zombie goblins/something with goblins maybe snotlings or gnoblars
Skeleton: ??? Same boat as zombies but with orks
Dire Wolves: Dire wolves or Chaos Hounds
Ghouls: Savage orks models
Bat Swarm: Squigs with bat wings.
Grave Guard: ???
Black Knights: ???
Fell Bats: ???
Spirit Hosts: Goblins with bed sheets on and a goblin with a spider on a string etc.
Banshee: Swamp monster, using river trolls maybe
Black Coach: Maybe something with Pump wagon, maybe not.
Any help would be nice, thanks.
Wraiths could be done quite easily. Grab some Orc, (or 40K ork) plastic sprues - from the sprues take the ork torso, head and arms. Drill a wire into the bottom of the torso and mount it on a base, then use green stuff to model shabby ghost-type robes onto it. Use the current wraith model as a guide for those ghostly garments, have them trailing to the floor etc. Then when it comes to paint it you need to have them mostly white but with hints of green (like this from the LOTR range, but a darker green base). See if the guys on the painting forum have any ideas on how to paint them like his.
Hope this helps mate. I'll have a think about some of the others and get back to you.
Mmmm, yeah but I sort of nore going towards something Orky, like my Spirit host Idea or something like that.
Maybe an ork with a cloak, jack-o-lanturn head blah blah etc.
That the sort of thing I'm looking for.
soo... you want orks that will still be funny after death lol
For Grave Guard use some Black Orks.
For the black knight try to put an ork on a skeletal horse lol
For the Fell bat use pigs with wings, the fell bat have pigs nose so it would work
What do you mean? Explain in more detail please, sounds fairlt cool. :shifty:Originally Posted by spacemarine
OK, so you are going for something a little more humerous - my mistake
A few more ideas:
- For fell bats you could use goblins, give them silly fur capes with attached bat ears. Then, for the wings you could give them some wodden-framed wings with black leather sheets in between the frame struts (think of those wooden glider type things the ewoks used in Return of the Jedi). You could call them gobbats.
- The grave guard could quite easily be represented by large ork secimens. Spooky them up a bit by giving them skeleton masks. For the weapon you could arm them with a "deff hitta" - basically a skull tied to the end of a stick
Maybe these are more what you're looking for.
if you could get a copy of white dwarf, just look back at that orky undead army, something like that might help you. i dont know the WD number off hand, but ill check back later if i can find out which one. basically you just need a ghoulish paint scheme and some slashes on skin and maybe the odd bone here and there.
