I'm sure this has been asked before, in fact I know it has, but those threads weren't helpful.
How do you do it? Obviously Marauder legs with green stuff kilts, but they're unreasonably expensive. Also the greenstuff rolls of cloth and such I know to do. Which heads would be best? I'm using Cadian models(I want them to appear well equiped) and Catachan bits. I want them to appear well equipped by the nobility of the planet, but they have to retain their individuality and ties to their clan.
I was on the Warseer forum, in the Imperial Guard's Medusa V section, and one of the players was discussing his own "Highland" unit. Apparently he used colored graph paper or some such (don't know if he meant colored as in it was already colored or he painted it) for kilts. I can only assume that graph paper is far cheaper than buying lots of extra legs and fiddly bits.
I THINK it was in the Edethor thread of the "Hold" subsection of the Medusa V section on their site.
Hope that helps.
(Edit) Bwhaaha! I found it. Here. http://warseer.com/forums/showthread...=32789&page=51
It's the post by, unsurprisingly, a player named "Highlander."

"Wife! You are abusing that Leman Russ model!"
I'm not going to do that, it just seems like it wouldn't be fitting on a GW model. Thanks anyway though.
