Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm going to paint an Ultramarines Rhino. I'm not sure of what color to paint certain things to be "realistic". First of all, i need to know what color to paint the marine on top. Should i paint him red with blue shoulder pads, or just blue? Also whatabout the interior, would gray or blue look better? THanks for your help.
for ultramaines its best to go with the ultramrine blue, i just finished ther base coat on my rhino, i first painted the entire thing ultramarines blue, then i lightly "inked" it with chaos black, it looks like it's been in service for a while. if it is possible then you should try to make the marine on the top look a different shade of blue form the tank, realistically the marine is more often gonna be killed in battle then the tank being blown up.
I would undercoat it in white primer and use a spray can of Ultramrine Blue. After, I then would mix 50/50 Skull White with Ultramrine Blue and drybrush the edges. As for the interior, I would basecoat in Chaos Black and drybrush in Bultgun Metal.
If you get the Space Marines Codex, it will even show you how to paint an Ultramrine vehicle. They are quite simple to paint if you are going for table top quality.
If Wolves were meant to fly, wouldn’t the Emperor have given them wings?
As for the Marine crew there's been much discussion about this. Personally, I think it is very unfluffy that the crew have the Adeptus Mechanicus badge on their shoulder pad as this sign is restricted to AM Priests and Enginseers (including Techmarines) but not for any Marine who happens to crew a vehicle.
Also, are the crew in fact from the Adeptus Mechanicus or are they just Marines? You have to make a choise here. If you think they are just Marines of your Chapter (Ultramarines) then paint them like the rest of your troops. If you think they are Adeptus Mechanicus paint them red (with the left shoulder pad in blue with the Chapter badge).
I think it would be cool to paint them red with blue shoulders, because then it gives my tank more variety. THe ultramarines tank they show on the box looks pretty boring, because everything is all blue. Hope it works.
I dont play ultra marines but the advice they gave was pretty god, hey can n e 1 c my avatar

My elvish name is Maeglin Meneldur.
Do you think that i should drybrush grey over black or paint it gray and have a black inkwash for the interior? Also would a boltgun metal interior look good?
