    blech wyches

I am going to start up a DE army, but I have one confession- I HATE the wych models:x . Can anyone recommend conversion ideas so they dont look like Chaka Khan with their giant hairdos? Warmachine has satyxis raider models that look similar (but much better IMO), I was thinking about adding wych weapons to them, although they wouldnt really be tournament legal. Any ideas of GW models that can be modded to keep it tourny legal? Thanks for your advice.

Conversion questions should be asked in the Conversion forum. ^_^

Try Dark Elf Corsairs, Assasins, Beastmaster and Shadow blade special characters. I am not a Dark Elve player so please don't take me to task over these names!
    Hope that helps.

Well, the obvious substitute for wyches would be witch elves, they are pretty much the same think but look less horrible, I have 20+ of them. Daemonettes would be ok too but nowhere as good as witch elves.

For mandrakes, try shades, corsairs or menghil manhide's manflayers. Or if you have the money, dark elf assassins, I'm almost certainally going to use the manflayers.

Grotesques - Vampire Counts Ghouls or something.

Every bad model in the dark eldar range (and there are quite a lot of them) are very replacable by other ranges.

Though I do think that this should have stayed in the dark eldar forum as it isn't really conversions, just substitutes, and he'll probably wanted responses from dark eldar players who have actually replaced the wych models, not just anyone. But since there is a link in the dark eldar forum I'll shut up now...

I use converted howling banshees, with splinter pistols and swords. They look very good in an army with lots of incubi. I have 2 squads of 7 incubi each, all painted black with white helmets, so I also painted the howling banshee helmets white and the rest of the body black. It gives the army a more "armored" look. I like this idea but others argue how wyches should have very little armor to have more CC agility, but ever y one has his or her style so ... do wut you like
