My SoB army got alot of sisters that doesnt wear a safety helmet... I dont want to paint all their hair in a single colour so I am now asking for help! Anyone got some website or tips on hair colour? I am trying to get them as fashionable as possible :shifty: (yes, they all wear make ups..)
IMHO white is the best on them, but I guess it depends on the armor color that you chose... I figure they all dye them white :shifty: The only variations are the higher-ups (SS and VSS) - they earned access to better beuty shops :w00t:
Don't know of any sites about hair painting though...
Ok. Try light brown with blond streaks, purple around the eyes with red lips if you want to go "I'll die for the emperor".Originally Posted by nekochen
Make them black/white hair with heavily darkened eyes and very pale skin if you want to go "I died for the emperor".
Finally, you can go all *****-like and make them blonde, blue around the eyes with purple lipstick and then say "I won't die for no emperor, y'all".
Personally I think white is good, although something different would be nice to see once in a while. Blonde is actuallly kinda cool, and "I'll die for the emperor"-style if you want them sexeh!
I have several different colors on mine: black (with midnight blue base), white, blonde (yellow), blonde (bone), brown, red (orange)... but sadly the pics are pretty bad.
Check out Tom Schadle's site (http://www.minivault.com/) and his collection of SoB - several colors there.
Well I don't exactly have a colour hair for you but with whatever colour you choose I recommend you use a base colour (not undercoat but a darker tone of the colour you choose), the colour you chose and a highlight (usually doable with just adding white to your choice of colour but it is quite plain, I personally use a different colour sometimes, (eg I would highlight Blue with light green sometimes...depends on the feel you're after really.)
With these it's just a simple case of doing a three colour layering starting with base coat (on top of the undercoat), main colour and highlight. Though relatively simple because it's like gamesworkshops two colour layer (Main colour and highlight) but with more layers it makes a models shading seem more flush. Using this method for th whole model and every model is quick and easy to do, so for mass painting purposes it easily doable and gives an above average painting quality (which looks quite nice on the table ^^)
As for your choice of colour, I would say choose a hair colour that compliments the rest of the model. For a typical example, black power armour and red robes would work well with either black hair with light grey highlights or white hair since most of the model is "cold" colouring.....I would say blonde is a bad choice in this respect, but blonde would work well with blood red armour as it compliments the "warmer" feel.
Lastly I quite like Bobby Wongs painting style, though it's not a style I would personally aim to be like, I do admire his flush painting. If you do a relatvant search for his name on a search engine you should eventually find his site....he has won quite a few medals from golden daemon so finding him shouldn't be too hard.
That looks sooo much better than the standard all-white that people tend to go for.Originally Posted by SentryKiller

WOW! that's some amazing painting/converting skill... I remember seeing his work on one of the WD issue too.
i thought that no one on this forum went on mini vault. i think that this dudes models are awesome!!! and his hair works well but he’s spent hours and hours working on it! if i was you
with dark armour i would do a light hair scheme either white , very light brown or blond. with a lighter scheme i would use dark hair like black or brown. also i would love to see some one using fully bleached bone sisters that would be cool and with black hair highlighted up slowly with a small bit of shadow grey, i think that bluey greys work better with black high lights, but you probably have your own scheme in mind although i could change my scheme *thinks*
