Welcome to Librarium Online!
Does GW (or any other manufacturer for that matter) have any corpse models? I'd like to model some dead troops beyond just the "severed head" look. I'd like to hang some corpses off dark eldar vehicle spikes etc, also under the feet of my tyranids.
The only three 40K caualty models I know of are these:
You could always use the Undead zombies from WHFB. These can be used to make some very dead looking corpses. You could also incorporate some parts of the skeleton regiment if you wanted to.
There are bits a pieces on certain sprues that can be used to model dead people. In fact, with a little cutting and repositioning, most plastic components can be made to look limp and lifeless. Here is an old WIP picture of a dead guardsman I put on the base of a carnifex:
This was made using all non-altered parts froma cadian guardsmen sprue.
I know GW make some corpse models for Mordheim (click me), but they are not really dressed right to fit into most 40K battle scenes. It is easy enough to convert your own from plastic sprues - grab some and experimeant a bit. Converting your own also allows you to position the models in whatever painful and tortured pose you see fit
Hope this helps mate.
I know GW used to make wounded, or dead models for almost all of their armies, but that was a long time ago. the only ones I know they make right now are for the Vostroyans, and those only apear to come in the platoon box set. I'd recomend rp252's advice or look for some of GWs older corpse models on ebay. the ones I'm familar with don't come with attached arms and you use plastic bits to make your own poses.
your right kevlar. the only corpses that GW make now are "limited edition". they could make an absolute bomb if they sold corpse minis.
A Murder Is Only An Extraverted Suicide.....
The Zombie sprue as already mentioned is your best bet for corpse parts. Most of the time you can give a similar impression by using other parts. A Space marine's helmet will give the idea that he is dead and possibly his rotting head is still inside.
I would suggest that you do something to make the corpses fit in. An example is the Malanthrope I just finished, I will have some pics in the gallery soon. What I did for the Malanthrope is use a few severed body parts from the Zombie sprue and then had Tyranid plants growing all around them. The plants also have part human eyes to show they have absorbed human DNA.
By using the body parts this way I was able to use very little, less than a complete corpse but the parts have a stronger impact than a Carnifex standing by a heap of bones. The reason is a small narritive. A little bit of a connection with the model and the bodies at it's feet I am discovering goes a long way.
My point is you don't need to spend a months wages on body parts to how quite graphically that they are there.
