Say I bought some metal or plastic models on Ebay, what could I use to strip a model if it's varnished? Same stuff?
In the UK we can obtain dedicted paint stripper (a chemical gel) from Do-It-Yourself home improvement and decoration stores. Brand names over here would be Nitromors, and Polystrippa.
It happily dissolves even polyurathane varnish. I used some a few days ago to strip a harshly painted Tuskgor chariot from Ebay (had to pull the plastic wheels off and the boars apart first though). It is a powerful chemical and great care must be taken not to allow drops to splash on skin. Also, it cannot be used on plastic models, as it will dissolve them too.
I'm not sure what Simple Green is, so cannot advise.
Ryan Dancey, Vice President of Wizards of the Coast, believed that TSR failed because of "...a near total inability to listen to its customers, hear what they were saying, and make changes to make those customers happy." Are you listening, Games Workshop ?
