Hi. I finally chose 'nids as my army of destruction, and bought a Hive Tyrant for a model to show off at a tourney tomorrow (the guy has boxes upon boxes of all of the armies). I was planning to make a two pair of scything talon and Winged Hibe tyrand, but it only has one pair of scything talons, and no Wings! So, i'm asking for ideas on how to model wings and/ or scything talons from the remaining arms. If this is a stupid question, let me know please.

You mean the box for the Hive Tyrant? Because that's what I bought. Sealed and everything. But I was thinking taking two of the gun arms, chopping them off, and making some wings with talons on them.
For Hive tyrant wings the bes t are the Balrog wings found here.
They will sort you out and look much more Tyranid-like than any of the other options. To get more scything talons I suggest you use the large scything talons from the tyranid heavy bio-weapon sprue which comes with the Tyranid warriors. There are of course a large selection of wings all over the onlone shop as well as various types of scything talons, especially in the classic and collectors section at the top of the page GW has devoted to Tyranids in the online shop. Hope this helps.
i would also go for the balrog wings because they look awesome on him

It's probably too late, but i would strongly consider Magnetising your big bugs.
The nerf bat is a lot like a lictor - you never know when or where it's going to strike, so always best to magnetise the big models just incase this happens.
It's also nice to experiment with different combinations until you're 100% sure you have the right combination for you.
Whoa...i didnt realize how big those wings actually are they are freaken huge. That model looks awseom, but a pain in the you know what to transport

Would a bloodthirster's wing also not be pretty good? You'd have to take off all the S&M stuff though..
Well, thank you for all the advice. However, I was short on cash and time. I made the wings and claws out of poasterboard. I just glued 3-4 layers together, and they look wonderful. I'm going to glue and paint them soon, and after the tournament, i'll post pictures.
