Welcome to Librarium Online!
So far at least. I just magnetized my first space marine! Using the tips from an article I found here I was able to magnetize an arm and a bolter for a tactical squad marine. Now I can equip him with as many as five different weapons that I can think of. Flamer, bolter, plasma gun, melta gun, and I think heavy bolter. I did not think I could do it but it worked great. The article I used is on the home page.
well thats good news, it means that this website is actually helping people...:shifty: how would you do a heavy bolter? it would need a magnetized backpack as well, so you could have that thing the bolter feed comes from, but thats a good idea. Usually i only magnetize important things (Commanders, Crisis Suits) but i can see that being useful for a normal tac marine

Did you use the plastic CSM heavy bolter or the SM metal one? Great to here tat you have succesfully magnetized your first model! Any pics that we can see?

I agree with Toast. I haven't seen a Normal Tactical Marine magnetized before but I think I'll do it. Could we see a picture of the Heavy Bolter?
Alright, I was wrong about the heavy bolter. Basically the tac marine can now hold any two handed weapon that fits like a standard bolter. The ones I know he can carry are the bolter, plasma gun, melta gun and flamer. I am new to this hobby so I apologize for my weapons ignorance. I will post a pic of him soon.
Its not a problem if you get the terminology mixed up, I'm glad you got into the hobby!

well, even if you only magnatized a marine, thats a good start
now you have some experience and knowldege, so when you want an interchangable commander, youll know how to do it!
I magnetized two marines, or should I saw one marine, but 2 setf of legs and 20 or so torsos :> I can now use the two men (one bike, one on foot or jumppack) with ANY equipment from the Relictors Armoury, and they occasionally take the ranks as normal marines since I don't own that many. Magnets are great, especially if you don't have enough cash for 40k.
Great to hear you got it on the first try! It took me 4 front torsos and 3 back torsos to get them lined up correctly, My torsos have 7 magnets, one on each side for the arms to hold to, one to connect to the legs, 2 (one front, 1 back) to hold the torso parts together, and 2 more to hold the backpack on straight. Each marine has 12-18 magnets I think, and a pack of 200 magnets costs around 10 bucks, so you can really go crazy with them.
Can't wait to hear more from ya!
7 magnets? You could stick those marines on the fridge! LOL. I just did it to add flexibility to my tactical squads, sargeants, HQ and assault squads. I like the way you think though. Those two marines could probably do just about anything!
