I'm starting up a Kroot Merc Army, and I have a model painted up with my basic color scheme. It is missing a few things, but I'll get to that in a second.
So, here it is:
OK now, I want advice on it, but not on the quality of the paint job. I know the paints a little thick, or a bit sloppy, and I don't care, as it was just a test model. I want to know what you think of the color choices, and advice to make it look better.
Also, the models will have one or two things added onto the paint scheme that I didn't include on this one. Blood/tribal markings on their face and arms, and possible a mottled color patern on the top of the head connecting to the crest., I just havent decided and am not sure of the best technique to do either of these things yet.
So, any advice on improving the scheme, or comments on it, are welcome.
It looks good! nothing to really improve I think.. the colors do well. the brown armor and green skin maybe needs some more contrast to each other.. highlight the brown a little more should do it, or paint it in a lighter brown.
Thanks for the comments. And yea, as soon as I got the pics on the computer I noticed the brown might be a bit dark. I am thinking of doing multiple tones, to represent them not all having shirts made of the same skin, and/or multiple tones for the different peices of the same.
also, its hard to see, but the chest is the same color as the beak.
sounds good mate.. good luck!
Your color scheme works pretty good. You managed to stay away from the christmas theme by using a muted green. As what was already stated lightening up the brown a bit will make the different areas pop! I would even go so far as to add some bone to the green to lighten it a bit on the upper highlights.
I think you base has turned out very nice. I think that if you look to highlight everything just a highlight more everything should really pop!

WOO! Another Kroot Merc player! Right on!
Your scheme looks awesome, I love the contrast between the wuills and the skin. I also like all the details, they look realy nice. I am almost finished painting up my fisrt squad, and I guess they're almost tabletop quiality, but meh. Yours is much better.
Great job on an excellent color scheme. I hope to finish the dquad either tomorrow or the next day, and get pics up soon!
