Ok, so a long time coming here is the first 'legal' squad of mine. It requires another three marines but at the moment it's legal and I wanted to see what people thought;
The colours are not perfect, I still have a few problems with photoshop and photographing them but they're pretty much close enough. My freehand needs work, I know, it's not consistant in size and shape but hopefully the more I do it the better I'll get at it. Also, the pictures may not show this, the armour colours are not exactly the same. This is due to me not writing down the amounts - or a recipe - so I must continually refer back to the previous minis; something to do next time - for consistancy reasons.
First off, the final two marines - Plasma Gun armed marine and a Bolter armed marine;

Well, I'm pretty much pleased with the look of them and they are - I hope - quite unique and different. I plan to do more in the way of conversions, though due to other commitments this army will be slow going - don't expect me to blast out a squad in a week or two!
Thanks for looking, all critisim and comments welcome.

Gareth is absolutely right about the bases! xD
The colour scheme is good, it really does look like a desert army, and I think the things on the legs (Purity Seals? - Forgot the name) look great.
One slight concern is that the Plasma Gun doesn't look straight at the end, as if it curves off; but nothing major!
Great job Kuffy - post more soon!
love the original color scheme, really nice, the sand bases may be touch boring but are significant with the whole egyptian theme going on

Seriously though... Nice looking squad. As for the bases Adding a little irregularness to the flat rock by mixing cork tile, sand, and even a filler such as wood putty/joint filler would be enough to eleviate any boringness to the bases. A little shrub grass and Magic!
Now offering an affordable Tournament Legal Quality Commission pricing. Find out more here!
There's always one... :tongue: Ok, ok. Point taken but I'd rather keep all 'special' bases for characters or special models - like dreads etc.
Looks cool indeed. I. for one, won't complain on the bases since these are just regulars. I'll be looking forward to see more of them.
They look nice and the bases don't need to be special for your regulars. Thats more of a special character or show thing.
Clearer pictures would help but, all in all, I really like the theme of desert coloured army with Egyptian origins.
Perhaps, if you were feeling green stuff happy, you could mould/carve some Egyptian amulets or something to accentuate the theme further?
Perhaps a motorcycle with side car could become a motorised chariot?
Just a few ideas.
Looking forward to the next batch!
Diabolus fecit, ut id facerem!
Wow, looking great.
Forget what other people say about the bases, I think they go very well and they are only your Troops choice not HQ or Elites.
