i've been thinking about starting and armored company, but finding a good camo color scheme is hard, so i've come to you to help me figure out what would look best! my ideas:
Forest- standered camo look. the three colors used dark angels green (dry brush highlighted with goblin gree), catagan green (drybrush highlighed with camo green), and scortched brown (dont know what highlight)
chemical waist- triangles on standered camo ( like this: Games Workshop Imagery)
but with a orange brown, dark red, brown, grey
any ideas and sugestions are welcome!

Your first scheme sounds like the tri-colour Normandy camo used by the Germans in the D-day + period of WWII.
Try searching the net, through books and articles on WWII and recent military camo schemes, they are a wealth of ideas for armour painting.

Get hold of IA1, in the back there is an appendix on cammo schemes and the different types and effects and the reasons for having them (generally disruption Vs concealment)
There are also hundreds of different colour cammo schemes
(there are also full rules for armoured battle groups - better than armoured companies - although that would imply buying IA1 rather than just looking through it)
Also take a swiz over to the US GW site and pick up the tread heads articles
Everything you have been told is a lie!
One of the best resources I've ever found for camo is:
kamouflage.net: index of military camouflage uniforms
you can select by country, and they have a fairly good description of the whens and hows of it's use. This doesn't include vehicles, but it's a great starting point for ideas.
