This is my newest piece of work, he's been complete now for about a week but the base was finished off today. That I'm actually rather pleased with, it is my first play about with milliput and so it turned out alright I feel. Perhaps could have been a little bit bigger but I'm happy with the result and the look of it too.
I have always loved this mini, so when I actually visited a GW a week or two ago I just had to pick him up and after a little bit of copying/inspiration off of a few versions I saw on CMON I came up with this. For me the favourite part to paint was in fact his face, I don't know why but I thoroughly enjoyed painting it. The freehand is my attempt, I've probably done half a dozen pieces of freehand and I think I'm getting better and better, this could have been done a bit better but the results work I think.
Without a doubt an extremely clean and beautifully painted piece.
Not going to offer any advice, i like it exactly as it is, kinda understated, which i like. Doesn't need all singing all dancing bell and whistles attached, he does exactly what hes suppose to, look gritty and nicely painted.
Well done mate.
Looks lovely. nice freehand i the base look superb.
Praise from Gareth with no advice? WOOT! Just need to look out for that Fake Adam now... sneaky bugger he is, being an elf and all that.
Thanks for the comments.
What can I say Kuffy mate, its been a while since you posted anything up and its great! It seems we have the same taste in mini's as Yarrick is not only one of my favourite special characters but one of my favourite sculpts too.
Gareth has it spot on, very clean (cleaner than anything I could do) a great base and one of the best skintone's I've ever seen you do. The metal effect you have done is great, nicely worn and battered.
Keep up the good work...........

VERY nicely done.
If I played IG, I'd be HAPPY to have that piece in my army.
I'm very fond of the look of the red on the Power claw & gun, but I would have, probably, used a slightly different recipe or, perhaps, a lighter base coat on the red in the various pieces of clothing. The color matches almost TOO well, IMO (not a criticism, mind you... just a sharing of opinion).
The base is quite decent and, while (as you already know) the freehand won't win you any Golden Demon's, it is QUITE nicely done. Good solid work on that.
Kudos. In my book, 7-8 of 10... closer to an 8.

Thanks for the comments, I am very happy with him - probably one of my better painted minis. He's sat next to my space wolf [which incidentally someone wanted to buy off me!] in my cupboard.
Eric - You're right with the freehand, it's a bit large and thick and unhighlighted. With practice I'm pretty much sure I can do a better job on the next minis I use it on, just practice is required. I see your point about the red but I didn't want to use too many shades incase he looked a little off, follow me? But I do see your point.
A very nice looking model indeed! I must say it is probably one of your most interesting bases yet!
As already touched on and responded too... the freehand could use a little slim-fast or other diet method to slim down a bit! :w00t: Otherwise very cool!
