Ok so i just stripped off all the old paint on my demon prince(the paint job sucked) and i decided to get creative unfortunatly the creative part of my brain is a little slow at the moment.
ok my problem is an Axe
i have him posed in this awesome position, in kinda a running forward charging thing going on, well n e way, i came up with this awesome sketch that would have been amazing if i could ever pull that off.
I tried using plasticard and then putting a layer of green stuff over it to get the detail in it. I know it might not have been the best approach but im not very tallented in ethier dept (green stuff & plasticard)
I still need someway to model the dread axe i plan to use but the catch is i dont want to use the GW BloodThirster Axe, can anyone recomend another aproch to my problem here. Im kinda lookin for maybe an axe that i can still kinda deck out a bit, like add khorne symbols with green stuff(that i can do) and skulls and chains and such.
Perhaps something thats not GW idk n e other companies that do things like 40k or warhammer in general. any help would be greatly appreaciated.
I Am MacMan
WH Fantasy has a model... Doombull, I think... it's wielding TWO axes... I added some Bel'Akor (sp?) wings & greenstuff and made it into a COOL looking Bloodthirster.
Have you checked those out?

Honestly the easiest way I can think of to get a large ornate axe with little modeling work would be to buy a common action figue. Go to any Wal-mart equivalent and browse the toy isles till something catches your eye. They are cheap, made of easy-to-model plastic, and usually quite detailed. I for one have made an impressive giant for an Orc and Goblin army out of a Spawn figure.
