The picture's a little dark, but what I can see, it looks good. Just like how they tell you to do it on the website. You might want to touch up the feathered part of the helm a bit, looks like you got yellow on the black and vice versa. Pictures bring out every minor mistake.
Thanks for your comments!
The photo is a little dark probably because of the lighting. I'll try to work on that.
I followed the website because I thought aspect warriors were supposed to follow a general color scheme-- Dire Avengers blue, Howling Banshees bone, etc.
Painting yellow and white on top of dark colors (like black!) is tough. It looks like your paint is pretty thick on the head. In the future, go for multiple thin coats rather than a thick coat, especially when doing light colors over dark. You can also build them up (black, then grey, then white, for example) to help alleviate this problem.
That's my advice. Other than that, it looks like a great start. Keep up the good work!
Those are the old models arent they... Blah.
I suggest Inking them, using a Flow aid, the go over them with the same color. It'll give them a good shade. Shadow Grey is really good. Followed up with highlights.
I have never directly seen these new Dire avenger models but I have painted a fair number of Eldar in the past. I suggest that you try to paint several thin coats and then use a detail brush and a darker shade of blue to do the shading. Eldar are an army that benefits well from extra attention. If you think that you may mess it up use a tiny amount of paint on the brush and the possiblity for mistakes becomes very limited.
Be careful with ink washes as it can easily pool in certain areas. Again only the barest amount of ink should be in the brush so that the right amount is applied.
That's the new Dire Avenger models They look gorgeous compare to the old Jack O'lantern helmet. Especially the Exarch could be mistaken for being a HQ if someone isnt familiar with the Eldar models.. it just looks that good!
