Okay I got two conversions here the XV8 was an idea that I had out of ther blue, and the SM was just me experimenting with some spare parts and some plasticard
The Feral XV8Back ViewAnd side view now on to the Junkyard SMYeah I know he looks like crap, but that's part of the idea. One more picAnd there ya go my Feral XV* and My Junkyard SM. The SM's sword can either count as a power sword or a powerfist (Because of it's immense size)

Tau W=0 L=0 D=0

OK, XV8 is cool, but I'm not a fan of the Junkyard SM.
Yes, he looks' pretty ordinary and doesn't actually achieve a 'junkyard' look.
What I would do is find slightly larger pieces and chop and glue them in - i.e. a piece of leg armour that is a bit out of proportion to the rest.
I would also mould thin bits of plasticard around his legs and make 'rivets' so it looks like he has bent some steel plate to patch up his armour.
Then he should look as if he just raided the junkyard for spares. Painting the armour patch ups a different colour (i.e. different legion colour, rust marks, etc) will enhance the look.
I would also rough up and slash his existing armour to give it a worn look.
As for the power weapon I would either slim it down or make it longer to restore some proportion to the weapon.
Hope this helps.
