Welcome to Librarium Online!
(Only for 2 days though )
Well, as the name says, I have recently come into borrowing a camera (more like left here) for a while, so I thought, "Hey! Why don't I take pictures of my miniatures?"
And so I did. I searched and looked up some stuff on this forum for taking pictures and I have a few examples below.
I hope to a higher power this does not break the layout.
That is Lt. Vaul, the leader of the command squad for my first Platoon of Guardsmen.
Now that is Yahir Stonefist, Thane (sometimes a runesmith) of my Dwarven Throng.
I'll try to put up more pictures later, and could I have some comments on these ones?
Thanks for even looking at this thread.
i like them, dont get me wrong, but i think that you are the type of painter that benifits from using the dipping style technique. It would add shading to all your models fast and easy. An example of dipping is some of blue table painting i think (could be another company that posts here). I like your models, i just think that they could use some quick easy shading.
"This sure ain't no pansy Eldar Armor, Son"
185th Cadian Armored Div.
"One Shot, One Kill"
Western Border Patrol of Athel Loren
Ink and highlight. Looks goof, i like your dwarf. But if you dont know how to ink/highlight i would head up to a GW and ask some red shirts for help.
Cheers for the comments.
Toast; I'll be sure to look into it, I've never attempted or tried dipping before, so it'll be a new world to me. But oddly enough, both of these models have been shaded using inks (except the Dwarf's golden armour), I guess its just a fairly bad picture.
Trooper; Thanks, and I'll be hopefully heading to a GW within the next few weeks so I could ask for some help.
And more pictures, and as the previous ones, are works in progress.
That was my test model for my army to test the colour scheme.
And this heavy bolter is just a little bit from completion, just paint the bolter like the previous one.
Also, I don't usually base my models due to the people I play with don't require it, so I picked the lazyer idea.
And one last question, anyone have tips on painting flesh? As shown examples, I'm not very good at it.
Well it depends on what kind of tone you want... i usually go with a darker tone, i paint scorched brown then bix a bit of white in then highlighted the raised area's. or just put your base clour then ink it with a compatible colour then highlight it with a lighter colour ( not white, unless they are retarded zombies from a snow place of fiery doom hell ma-bob =D )
Oh.. forget to say thats some nice looking HW teams, i like the one when the guy is moving up with a bayonet and the other guy is shooting, but seriously i still would base, it would make your models 100% better!!
Looks pretty good, at least now you have the details on the face. not just one colour everywhere. By the way, you live in toronto? or soemwher in canada?
Wow.. nice posing seems like mr. BadA** took down a smurf, but why? Nice pose, but if you want to keep the SM head i suggest you drill our the head or t least cut off the round part at the bottom.
