    [40k, Skaven] Introduction + WIP

    Hi guys,

I should introduce myself to start.
I'm French, living in NYC for other a year now.
    I'm more a painter than a player.
I started collected long time ago with the Rogue Trader edition from GW.
As a froggy, I also collected a lot of Rackam models but also Urban Mammoth and Privateer Press.
Steerpike suggested that I join this forum so here I am.

I stopped painting about 2 or 3 years ago and recently decided to dig into my hudge box of antiques.

I always been a found of the skaven especially since I saw the army of Eddy Chambers in an English WD long time ago.
Then came the drawings of Master Goodwin on a 40k version of those rats.
A great French artist, Bruno Rizzo, converted some for a Lost and Damned army (http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd13-2006/figues.htm

I decided that it was my turn and bougth a box of rats.
I'll try to give them a steam punk spirit.
    Here is my first try.
    maybe too much accessories
In my mind, those rats scavenge from the others races, trade or sale what they can find left on battelfield.
There are closer to the Jawas of Star Wars.

    and back

This one has stolen from the Tau, traded his gun with the kroots, scavenged grenades from the Imperial Guard and found a knife.

Let me know what you think of that one

I love it. I'm a huge fan of Skaven as well, but I don't play fantasy and probably never will. I might try some future rats myself some day. Thanks for the inspiration

Hey, just have to say that I love the army idea. A friend of mine does Skaven, and I may try and encourage him to have a go at Skaven 40k after seeing your model.

It has a very nice look and feel to it. Can't wait to see more of them, not to mention this one when it's painted.

I think they'll be under the influence of nurgle, spreading his divine plague and should be joined by zombies and death guards sm

    Ugh, don't do that!

I think you should keep it as an all-rat army, a random alien race using the LatD rules. No need to mix in Chaos stuff. If you really must include Chaos stuff for the gaming benefit I suggest changing thename and the backstory behind those rules. In that way you can create your own alien race!
"The Enemies Gate is Down" (Bean/Ender)

"Individual human beings are all tools, that the
others use to help us all survive." (Graff)

"There is no teacher but the enemy." (Mazer Rackham)
