I like the scheme, and i like the head ( Because orange comes down as if it were veins of some sort ) and the bases. what i would do is keep it black imbetween the carapace sections.

OK. I see what youre talking about. Going to try it on one now.
I think that the orange looks good where it's drybushed over the black - though i would make one suggestion. Maybe its the picture but it doesn't look like there's any shading on the actual carapace. This seems a shame because it would be so easy to stick a brown wash over the back and head (running into the plate joints). It would break up the plates and make the model look a lot better for about 4 seconds' work. I think the base is great and really adds to the model - I'd love to see a horde of these guys!
