k ive finally managed to find time to get back to my kroot mercinaries army. I've decidied to go for a shaper wiht a plazma gun because it works well with the kroot's ability to first turn rapid fire. But less on strategy, heres the model;
the army is themed around a band of kroot, not content living under the shadow of the universe, who determined to to show all the power of the kroot. Led by master shaper Te'Krell, the band has expanded into imperial space. Instead of receiving special weapons as payment, they scavange them off opponents killed and wield them as deadly trophies. The army is resisted my combined forces of imperial guard and space marines, and use weapons of both and only those. (no shericats, sluggas, etc.)
++EDIT++ gs work has been completed since i posted this pic
thats really cool dude. however, i would like to see him more distinguished as a shaper, maybe add something to make him stand out a bit more from the rest of the kroot. maybe some cool horns(sigh, my answer for everything:shifty: ) or sunglasses or a fancy hat...
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
Looks good, nice to see the kroot getting some loving.
The only things I'm not hot on are the melta bomb and the vox-caster, they just seem a bit out of place as they are. If you run a small GS strap through the handle of the bomb, and a pair of straps on the vox, then I think it will look much better :yes:
I like the dead marine btw, it kind of looks like he's got stuck in some qick sand or something...
PS. Plasma has one more 'S' and one less 'Z' than the way you've spelled it

Awesome I like how the marine was shot in the eye, ha ha. The guy looks cool too, but if that thing over-heats then he is so dead.

I would use some putty to fill up the space in the left arm. There is a gap and it would looks much better with some simple filler.
Oh, and he has several wounds, so I think he can take the plasma

Hes likely to only shoot once before combat starts spinning, so 3 over heats shouldnt be a worry. And ive done some gs work, mostly gap filling in the elbow, knee and foot. And I know what you mean, I definately need to sculpt some straps or something. Help on making him look more Shaper-ish tho. I've had trouble before and I was playing someone and he thought one of my warriors was my shaper! I think horns are out of the question, seeng as they're usually eating humans, and i cant really sculpt the head cowl most shapers have. any help?
Thats 1 kool model, what othere idea's have u got for the army?
Basicly any type of headress will make him looks a lot more like a shaper. Make a hood or some sort of targeting eye piece and he will stand out a lot more. Another thing is to add knives. Lots and lots of knives. Those will pretty much always make something stand out.
