Welcome to Librarium Online!
Here's a test model I did up to see how well I could do the colors for my space marine chapter, the Angels of Fire. Its based off (the same as) a chapter shown in the GW site's gallery of chapters here.
The red is hard too see from the pics, but i tried to blend the highlights. Also my first attempt at major blending with the shoulder pads. comments and criticism appreciated.
I like the color scheme, I think it's almost 'rightous' looking, if you know what I mean. Good job on the shoulder pads as well. One minor gripe, I think the model looks kinda shiny, whether that's just the camera, or some ink or something. Good job otherwise.

I agree with Aether-Moose, thats a well painted marine. It does look very shiney though, so unless this is a look you are aiming for (or due to the camera etc) I'd suggest using some matt varnish on it to kill the shine. I like the way the silver details contrast with the deep reds, and I think you have done a very good job on those shoulder pads. Overall a nicely painted marine, get rid of that shine and you'll have yourself a good example to follow for the rest of you army.
EDIT: any chance of a pic with the dullcoat on?
Very nicely painted + highlighted. Again, the shininess thing but that can be undone as said above.
The only thing I don't like is the flames themselves, the blending's great but the shape of the flames seems a little lacking in form. I don't quite know how to decscribe what's wrong with them.. I think it's because they're lacking sharp points (if that makes any sense).
Thanks for the comments. I'll get pics of it with the dull cote once I finish my next test, a biker (army is mainly biker). That should be done today or tomorrow depending on how much time I have.
Also, I'm not exactly sure what you mean bicko, but I'm hoping I can improve the flames with this next model, which will have some larger surface area on the bike itself for testing.
If you look at the GW flames they get thin and end in a point, but your flames stay wide and then tend to end in a curve. The colouring on the flames is great though!Originally Posted by ShadowZora13
Looks pretty good mate, good work.
The reds seem a little dirty, maybe it's the photo, maybe not, but they don't seem very 'pure'. It looks like you're shading with black, and red gerenally works best shaded with browns.
Also, the bone on the chest icon and petrol cap (or whatever that is) looks like it could definately do with a bit more shading and highlighting.
I really like the flames, they looks very nice, and really make the model 'pop'
