Im looking for thoughts on how to make a berserker glaive on my DP. e will also have wings and the head of either a juggernaut or a bloodthirster(not sure yet). Anyways, what do you think that the berserker glaive would look like and what part should I use. Im not very good at"scratch building". And yes I do know that daemon weapons can look like anything since their appearence is ever-changing, but when I set him down on the table, I want my opponent to say, "Oh, I see you gave your Daemon Prince a Berserker Glaive." Catch my drift?
Start with it being a long pole with a big nasty blade on the end, aka glaive.
Once we have that out of the way, um....
I'd say use some sort of dowel or plastic rodding, cut that to length, and then find yourself a good blade. If you got a Bloodthirster head, that is assuming you have access to bloodthirster parts that someone was stupid enough not to assemble into arguably the best model in the game. Use the axe off that perhaps as the blade, or make something yourself. Plasticard or an old credit/library/ID card would be able to be trimmed into the right shape, good thickness too.
Needs to look technological as well as mutated and organic, so perhaps use some sort of open motor, maybe part of an ork trukk, then green stuff the edges so it flows in a nasty, evil, chaos kind of way. Spiky bits never go astray.
Lastly, a couple of skulls will always complete a daemon weapon, perhaps a large one as the butt of the staff end.
Don't be afraid to experiment, even if you stuff up a bit, it's a chaos weapon, it won't be straight-out-of-the-forge production.
im getting the bloodthirster head off mail order from the online store on GW's site. I was more looking for a part that may look like a glaive to convert mildly, not to build one from scratch, but thanks anyways.
At a tourney, I saw a Berzerker Glaive using the big Choppa chainaxe head held by the Ork Warlord, on some kind of stick. Looked pretty badass.

thanks guys. I also just discovered one of the fantasy ushabti's glaives. It looks exactly like what I pictured. I'm gonna look into all possibilities. Also, which head do you think would look cooler on a khorne daemon prince, the new bloodthirster head or a juggernaut's? I'm having a really hard time deciding.
go juggernaught head! i just think that the bloodthristers head is kinda silly looking for the most vicious thing in existance

Well ill be needing a juggernaut model and a bloodthirster model for my army anyways so ill just kinda hold them both in place on my DP model and see which looks better.
And what doe anyone think of the Ushabti's weapon idea for the glaive. They can be found here:
Let me know which of those 3 you think would look the coolest(well theres actually 4 but the third and fourth look the same).
I plan to just cut off the arm at the top and file down the hand. Then ill just stick the DP outstretched left hand in the gap.
As soon as you mentioned them, it was light a light bulb.
Use an Ushabti weapon?
Number four, you may wanna convert it a bit, spikes and the like, so have fun with that.
*makes note to check out some Tomb Kings*
well ill definately be putting the spikes and the like on em. They may be a bit small ythough so i think ill have to add some green stuff to buff up the rod itself. And Ill probably be going with #4.
