I'm currently modelling a pair of vypers to fit in my army, but I'm running into a problem. The codex gives an option to upgrade the twin-linked shuriken catapults to a shuriken cannon, but I don't know how to model the cannon onto the base of the vyper.
Anyone figure out an easy way to do this? I'm a novice at converting, but I'm game to take a shot at it.
The standard approach is to replace the plastic shuriken catapults with the metal shuriken cannon from the shrieker jetbike,
Everything you have been told is a lie!
I have a thread on this in Conversion, but I'll post my solution here (it's not in the other thread).
I cut the two armour sections from the heavy weapon sprue and removed the prongs from them. I glued one to the end of a piece of tubing, threaded the cannon on, then glued the other on. Make sure the longer armour sections, with the vanes, are at the top. There is enough of a gap between the plates to glue the whole assembly to the vanes on the underside of the Vyper chassis (with some cutting). The cannon is upside-down, but it clears the probe on the bottom of the seat section and sticks out between the front spikes.
The hole where the catapults go can be filled in with green stuff.
I haven't painted this yet, so I'll try to get some pictures if this is unclear.
