I'm attempting to build a Falcon, from scratch. It's still preliminary at the moment and here are some pictures of it
Glue Addict - Scratch Built Falcon
If anyone has any experience in doing this, some help would be great! Please comment. Thanks
That looks quite good, I think you are off to a good start. I would think that to get that Eldar look you will need to smooth it down. I would use green stuff to do this as it is handy on things like the edges. You might also want to consider that you probably won't get it to look exactly like a Falcon.
What you can do about this is give it some unusual vehicle upgrades. If you are building the whole thing from scratch this will be ideal to create fancy parts for it.
hey , thats real nice , thinking of putting a tutorial on that ? i agree , you should smooth down the edges . Remember eldar are very . . . fruity . . so long nice and smooth .
Good job .
That looks pretty sweet. I for one hate having to buy transport tanks for such a high cost (

Wow. That is... impressive. How long did it take? Is this the first time you've tried a project like this?
Thanks for the compliment guys and the tips...
yup, gonna run down the stores soon to check if they have restocked the green stuff...
It is my first time doing model of a tank or a falcon for that matter, but it's not the first time I'm doing a model (I used to be an architectural modeler). However, I think the technique I used here is pretty simple and straight forward and all it needs it time and patience... lots of it i guess. I'm gettin materials from my office so it almost costs me nothing! heheh, and it's actually cardboard, easily available from any stationary stores.
Trooper, I'll try to renect the previos steps I made for the outline of the hull, but from now on, I'l try to be a bit more tutorial in my presentation. I've continued with the outline of the cockpit here...
after which was the panels...
Will keep more coming.
looks good, am just wondering what glue you are using, as ive tryd to make a few cardboard models but the glue made it all warp, so i had to switch to plasicard (which i prefer), but doing a trial run with cardboard would save me a lot of time in the long run.
figure GW will figure out a way to shut this down as well , damn drop pod templates.
thanks for the tips and images, good inspiration for all those rhinos and chimeras
