My army regularly fields 2 wraithlords. I've converted one up to a swooping hawk wraithlord the other a reaper. The problem is swooping hawk wraithlord seems to be out classed. Does anyone have any ideas for the conversion? (I think it needs work on the head)
Currently the Swooping hawk lord is a repositioned wraithlord with battlefield gothic battleship wings. -repositioned so that it looks like its bounding off the ground. Brightlance is carried in one arm kinda like a swooping hawk and its blaster.
The Reaper is a repositioned lord with the old harlequin mask done in bone.
-repositioned into a crouched gunning position with brightlance in both hands.
I was thinking of getting a second harlequin mask but don't think it would fit the swooping hawk feel.
Sorry i don't own a digital camera so no pics. (I should buy one i know). Any ideas?
-forgot to say that these are the old pewter wraithlords. Colour scheme is black, fire, and bone. (Think legion of the damned meet eldar)
alright that sounds good, i did something similar with mine, and the problem does lie in the head. What i did was i made mindiblasters and a crude banshee mask for the head. if you look at the swooping hawk autarch it will give you inpiration in what to do. you will need a lot of green stuff ( you already know this probably)
If you are going to do another Wraithlord conversion try making a warp jump generator back that can look good expecially if you give him powere blades.
I hope I have been of some help.
Ian M ON THE BATTLEFIELD THERE IS BUT ONE COMMAND MENT THOU SHALL KILL!!!!!!!!
Well i've seen a converted wraithlord that sounds similar to what you described...
However as mentioned the problem would stem from the head..
A normal WL head is much to broad/tall to be deemed an elegant swooping hawk.
I think it should be a more streamlined look...more tilted back and elongated as apposed to oval and tall....that would be a simple fix though
