    tips for painting eldar

    Hi
I bought the eldar dire avengers and I'm thinking of buying the eldar phoenix (forge world).
For the dire avengers I want to use midnight blue and chaos black.
any tips for painting them with those colors would be much appreciated.
And for the eldar phoenix I would like to here some tips on cool colors and painting tricks for the phoenix.
Any other tips for painting in general would be awsome!

I've found the dire avengers are the toughest guys to paint and look good. If you want to paint them in there traditional colours look at the GW site they say exactly how to do it.

To expand on what greymonk said the exact link for painting DA's in the "classic" scheme is here:

One thing to consider is to use the Eldar Flash painter:

to get an idea of what colour you want your Guardian troops to look like. Or for that matter what colours you may want to paint your Aspect Warriors. Personally I think that brighter colours suit Eldar quite nicely; though I've seen well painted, drabber looking models a more vibrant scheme contrasted by a slightly less attention grabbing colour works magnificently. All in all good luck to you on painting your new army.

    Cheers!

Not sure how much it will help you but im doing a darkened variant on most of my eldar army's. Here's some pics to give you an idea how mine turned out, if you want to know any more just drop me a line and id be happy to help

    Dire avengers

An attempt at a blue flame fire dragon. (didnt like it but might help with your blue avengers)

My finished fire dragon. Note its alot darker than the usual bright firey colours.
