Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm starting an Eldar force with an aquatic 'Atlantean' theme and am looking for ideas on painting, basing, and converting the models. The armor will be primarily turquoise, green, and blue with gold (or silver?) weapons (rusted turquoise). I'll also be using purple and white for details. I've owned a lot of armies throughout the last 12 years and I've finally decided to apply my skills to make something visually stunning and creative. I'll post pictures as I make progress with this force.
Here are the models I'll be using:
Howling Banshees (I wish to make these squid-like maybe w/ tentacles or coloring)
Dire Avengers (model coral growing onto armor, what to do about the head tassles?)
Path Finders (not much idea for these, maybe buried in sand or sea-weed?)
Wave Serpents (clear plastic connecting the wing off-chutes, possibly sea-weed dangling)
Warp Spiders (crab-like)
Warwalkers (am considering making them 4-legged (possibly crab-like) instead of 2)
-Considering using the Necron decal sheet for the emblems (could paint them another color)
-Will be basing defensive units on beachy sand with ankle-deep water.
-Will be basing offensive units on city rubble (as if hit by a title wave) with ankle-deep water.
Here's linkage to the army list: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...266#post892266
Overall I'm looking for cool ideas on how to theme/convert the models and any advice you guys have got to give.
You could use a coral type theme. What i mean is a them with coral and barnicle type things actually on the models to look like they rest in the sea (or banks of the sea counting a high tide) and only emerge to defend. This is just my initial thought, but i would love to see some of your models when you start you army. Idea seems really promising! ! !
Ya, the plan is that they live in structures underwater and the coral will actually be growing on the Dire Avengers' armor. Eldard Ulthran's re-deployment power is explained by a giant wave he summons to mask his army's advance.
I painted me first test model (guardian) but am not fully happy with the color scheme: Midnight Blue to Enchanted Blue undersuit with Scaly Green to Jade Green armor. Brazen Brass gun, purple face mask, and Green gems.
Consider using yellow as the contrast colour too.
That'll really scream AQUATIC to everyone that sees it.
Sounds great man. Look forward to it.

also remember that if you are going to add coral bits and other aquatic things to the armor, these would be very bright reds, greens, etc. So, pick an armorment color you like and then use the "accessories" to bring to army to life with color.
