So... I was cleaning up and re-arranging my room when I found a spare SM bike without a rider on it. I also found like 90% of the sidecart to make it an attackbike. Now given I'm building a DA/Ravenwing army, suffice to say I don't really need single bikes as Battleforces give me loads.
So my idea was to make a DA librarian on a bike. Or eventually even a commander. But given I like to make a Librarian... anyone got any ideas?
I figured to use a ravenwing biker with cloak, just use a different front torso (probably from the DA upgrade sprue) but besides that I'm quite inspirationless. So any ideas/tips would be appreciated
If you can, try to put some books on there, to represent the Librariums for the Chapter.
Also, try to find the skulls with ram horns, as that is also symbolic of the Chapters Librarians.
The ravenwing sprue would be good for you - it has the robed rider, and a big plastic book you can stick somewhere on the bike. If you need a librarian skull (the horned one mentioned above) you can get one from several of the older librarian metal back banners, just have a look on the GW site.
Also, consider a familiar. As your character is riding a bike some sort of bird or cherub might suit well - something that can move quickly and keep pace with the bike.
Represent the force weapon with something big and impressive - a staff with a librarium skull on the top or perhaps some sort of ornate sword or axe.
Books are good, the more the better. Same goes for scrolls.
If you are not using a robed torso then a psychic hood is very easy to make out of an old shoulder pad. Just cut it into shape and attach it to the neck band of the librarians power armour.
A back banner for the librarian is optional really. If you like the look of one then go for it, but I tend to think characters on bikes look silly whilst wearing back banners. If you do decide to get one make sure its "flow of movement" fits that of the rest of the model.
GS is your friend. Add small details to the librarians power armour that indicate it is more ornate than a regular marines in recognition of the librarians rank.
Good luck to you whatever you decide to do. Please post some pictures when finished.
I actually made mine this week from the Ravenwing sprue. I used the Robed marine with the Robed Face. Then I just stuck with the power weapon and found an extra skull that was suitable size for the bottom. I attached the large book to the rear of the bike where the roll pack usually goes. Then i utilized the long purity seals and make them look like scrolls coming off the bike to show movement. My regular marines are painted salamander style. So i used a dark blue coloring for contrast with a dark grey cloak. Extra highlighting made him stand out and I worked on the sword coloring to be a "force" weapon.
Works fine for me. I plan on putting him on a IG heavy weapon base with a familar skull or 2 modelled on it to represent the librarian more.
