Ok, so I'm having a bit of touble coming up with basing ideas for my High elves.
I've done snow with my Space Marines, and I've played around with some desert bases as well. At the moment I'm using a muddy/grassy base: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...e/DSC00194.jpg
Prblem is, when I apply it to kneeling troops I need to apply the mud to the kneeling legs. And it looks horrible!
I need some suggestions for other kinda bases I coould do. I don't wanna mess around with static grass it's too messy and plain. I want to have something that give my HE some flavour...
That's a cool website, but I don't really wanna base all my elves on rocks :ninja:
You don't have to base them all on rocks, but it does give some great tips on how to make snow terrain/ features.
You could base all commanders/ command units on rocks, elevating them above the normal trooper. For the normal trooper, just use snow and gravel to tie them into the whole winter theme.
You said you do not like the mud on the kneeling guys? So maybe you should just improve that. At the moment it looks too 'round' at the edges. You could try the techniques GW suggests for IG tanks or maybe produce some little dots of colour around the edges. Just sprinkle some paint all over the knee. Even using some more different shades of brown might improve it very much.
If you made your album accessible to everyone and showed us some more pics I would be much easier to give some useful tips.
