Have been repainting my SOB's and am allying them with Vostroyans and what will tie them together is. . .snow! Have begun dabbling with styrofoam basing and snow flocking on those Vostroyan high hats and the Sisters' shoulder armour. However, one problem that grabs me with no mercy comes from the Repentias. I don't care how Raged-up they are, the cold is going to get to them. It occurs to me different ways that blue could be added to the flesh tone, i.e. blue ink wash, blue dry brush, etc. . .However, I can sometimes be a bit heavy handed and don't want these nuns to resemble whacko smurf chics and am asking for constructive advise.
Well, skin does not turn bright blue when cold but rather a dark purple tone. Especially around the lips, ears, fingers, toes and joints. Experiment with mixing Fortress Grey with your standard skin colour and add Shadow Grey and a small amount of purple and black to the above mentioned areas.
See how it works.
